Using a recipe Siggi’s mother sent, he began making skyr in his small New York City kitchen. It tasted like home. Within just a few months, Siggi quit his day job, bought a whole lot of dairy equipment, and siggi’s was born.

Hello, I am Siggi! I moved to the US from Iceland.

I found the yogurt on store shelves too sweet and artificial tasting.

So, in 2005, I made my own using a traditional recipe from Iceland with simple ingredients,

It had more protein than sugar, and a thick and creamy texture.

And then I made some more.
